Before joining Laborde Law, Niyati worked as a Consultant with the Directorate for Financial Affairs at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Paris. She worked with policymakers of the ASEAN region to foster efficient economic policies.
Previously, she has worked as an international arbitration associate with a leading law firm in India. Her area of practice was international commercial arbitration and advisory before domestic courts. She has advised clients from various industries such as telecommunications, media, technology and pharmaceutical. She also provided contractual advisory, especially to media houses. She has represented clients before the Supreme Court of India in proceedings related to, challenge and enforcement of arbitral awards.
She is a member of several arbitration associations, including the Young ICCA (International Council for Commercial Arbitration) and the YSIAC (Singapore International Arbitration Centre).
